My Background
Being an artist has always been in my blood. With generations of farmers in my family, there seems to have always been a need to create, make and grow.
I have been drawing and painting since elementary school. Without any formal training, I have taught myself oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastels and more.
Still living in the Midwest, I have settled in Illinois with my husband and 2 daughters. Even though I didn't follow my family's path in farming, but that desire to create is still burning strong in my art.
My Medium
I would say, my favorite medium to work with is oil. In a sense, it feels more romanic and rich in texture.
When I can get over the "nails on a chalkboard" feeling, I love pastels and charcoal too.
My Inspiration
Good lighting, shadows and highlights make me happy. It brings life into the art.
There is nothing more spectacular than a sunrise or sunset on a beautiful landscape.
